My leaves. Here are some other important things to know about oak leaves and you should know that some oak leaves can be very dangerous, be careful!
Here are some things to be careful of during adventures outside.

DIFFERENT SHAPES
Oak leaves can look different – some have round edges, and some have pointy edges.

ACORNS
Acorns are tiny seeds with a hard shell. They usually attached to my leaves.

CHANGING COLORS
In the fall, my oak leaves turn pretty colors like red, orange, and brown. The children will laugh and play in my leaf piles.

MY VEINS
My leaves have lines, called veins, that look like roads. This carries water and food to different parts of my leaf.

DEER FRIENDS
My deer friends love to munch on my leaves and acorns - they say my leaves are very sweet and yummy!

DIFFERENT CREATURES
Insects and spiders will make homes on my oak leaves.

POISIONOUS LEAVES
Remember this saying: "Three leaves, just leave it." Sometimes you may find a cluster of three leaves like this that are very harmful! Stay away! This can get you sick and cause your skin to itch.

MUSHROOMS
Sometimes you may see mushrooms growing around a tree of sometimes on a tree. Never ever take a mushroom off a tree or eat it, this can cause you to be very very sick.

BROWN SPOTS
Sometimes my leaves have brown spots on them - please do not pick any leaf off my branches. My branches will let the leaves go when they are ready.

BARK
My bark is to protect me. If you see big areas of missing bark - please call a tree doctor, this might mean that I am not feeling well and need help.

A HOLE?
Sometimes my tree might have a hole in it - do not explore, this might be home to another animal.
